Reel World Film Series
Western faculty are invited to submit film proposals for the Reel World film series, which takes place during fall, winter and spring quarters each year. The films can be incorporated into a course, an event, or a club on campus, but will be shown to the community at large.
The Institute for Global Engagement (IGE) sends out a call for titles each spring for the following year then selects the films to be included, creates a calendar of titles, and works with Western Libraries to purchase or rent the selected films.
Faculty who sponsor a title on the Reel World calendar publicize the event in their classes or clubs and lead a discussion about the film before or after the screening itself.
IGE provides logistical support for obtaining films, securing screening rights, publicizing films, and screening films. IGE is not responsible for communicating with or obtaining additional funding for bringing associated filmmakers or guests to campus.
